THE
BAND FORMERLY KNOWN AS….?
“Name The Band
Christmas Cash in Your
Hand Contest”
Las
Vegas, NV —Grasshopper
Talent,
a public relations and
talent firm
specializing in the
music industry, has
struck a deal that
will promote its indie
label music group on
the popular LV Rocks
Net radio station
based in Las Vegas,
NV.
Grasshopper Talent
is building publicity
for a rock band that
is seeking a new name
for their group. The
media campaign
features a contest for
fans to "name
that band" as
they hear the band in
live venues and during
radio promotions,
including interviews
with band members on
the LV Rocks station,
Sound Advice Show on
Monday nights at 8:00
PM PST. News releases
to all regional media
and interactive web
features will
culminate in a live
performance on the LV
Rocks station, in Las
Vegas on December
20th, 2007, at which
time the winning new
band name will be
announced.
A prize of $400
will be awarded for
the winning entry from
all names submitted
via the internet and
email during the
two-month promotion.
The winner will also
receive an autographed
copy of the band's
forthcoming CD
release, which will
include credit for
their help in naming
the band. The award is
co-sponsored by the
producer of the Sound
Advice show, Pieter
Holland, and
Grasshopper Talent.
The group, who shall
remain unnamed until
December 20th, will
vote on the entries
received, and from the
weekly winners, select
the new name during
the December 20th
broadcast of Sound
Advice.
The band was
originally formed in
the early 1990’s,
and was the brainchild
of lead guitarist,
Christopher T.
DiFilippo. Known
recently as "AT
LARGE," the band,
after moderate success
in the Orange County
and L.A. music scenes,
was on its way to
reaching audiences on
a national level with
their single,
"Broken
Hearts," which
received airplay, and
broadcast of the video
on MTV.
AT LARGE was shaken
and ultimately
disbanded by the death
of Chris in 1996. In
2004, bass guitarist
J. D’Amore decided
to resurrect AT LARGE
with the help of
original members—vocalist
Michael Folston and
drummer Greg Wilding.
Band members today
are: Michael Folston
– Vocals; Shannon
Smith – Guitars;
Scott Berry –
Keyboards; J. D’Amore
– Bass; and Greg
Wilding – Drums.
"This
currently unnamed band
recently announced
completion of their
single, "What Do
You Want From
Me?" It’s a
hard-hitting song
about overcoming
personal addictions,
originally written by
Chris DiFilippo,
Michael Folston, and
Shannon Smith.
Currently, they are
recording their next
single, "I Am The
Fire" with
Grasshopper
Talent," states
Scott Mead, the
recording artist who
produces the band’s
unique sound. "We
are excited about the
possibilities for the
band’s name. You
could say this
promotion is
"band aide."
